Nonsense. He could have hung out far away from the action and spend exactly the same amount of time that he wound up spending any way. He volunteered for action, and in a service that had a high mortality rate.

Clearly, he wanted out quickly, else he wouldn't have come up with the bogus Purple Heart(s). Perhaps he volunteered, but didn't realize what he was getting into, I don't know (it is, after all, KERRY who has said he wanted to be "closer to the action"). But it is blatantly obvious there is more to the story than meets the eye.

I think those who rely on Kerry's military service as the basis for voting for him, particularly in the absence of fully understanding his extreme voting record in the Senate, are guilty of undereducating themselves about the upcoming election. This guy is clearly not the better choice.

Even if you hate Bush, there is no question he has put the safety of the country as his top priority, that he has the ABSOLUTE BEST MINDS AVAILABLE in his cabinet, and frankly, that he has done a great job under the most adverse of circumstances. Being honest, the Left's only consistent position is that they all HATE Bush.
