OT - I can attest to that. I fell while in travel status
in January 2000. My leg swelled up like a balloon from my
knee to my foot. Workers Comp treated me like a criminal
for three years.

I had all the symptoms of a torn meniscus. They refused to
allow an MRI of my knee (the only way other than surgery
to prove or disprove a torn meniscus), ET AL. Instead,
they sent me to their doctor illegally (per their own
regs). He filed a fraudulent, detailed report stating that
I had completely recovered, yet he performed almost no
orthopedic tests at all.

Workers Comp ignored my physicians reports & fully
relied upon their disputed doctors report. They ruled
against me & terminated my claim.

I used my health insurance & got the MRI. Turns out I had
a severely torn meniscus that I was forced to walk on for
3+ years. I ground the torn portion to shreds & it tore up
some cartilage too. Now I'm almost bone on bone on that
part of my knee.
