deCODE genetics Announces Resignation of Independent Accountants Thursday August 26, 4:30 pm ET No Disagreements with Accountants on Accounting Principles or Practices
REYKJAVIK, Iceland, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- deCODE genetics, Inc. (Nasdaq: DCGN - News) today announced the filing of a Form 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to the August 19, 2004 resignation of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as deCODE's independent registered public accounting firm. PwC had acted as deCODE's independent registered public accounting firm since deCODE's formation in 1996.
During deCODE's fiscal years ended December 31, 2003 and 2002 and the period from January 1, 2004 through August 19, 2004 there were no disagreements with PwC on any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure which disagreements, if not resolved to PwC's satisfaction, would have caused PwC to make reference thereto in their reports on the financial statements for such years.
The Audit Committee of deCODE's Board of Directors is actively engaged in retaining a new accounting firm.
