Jorj, you're right. His timing on that Feb 2000 trade was about as good as Paul Otellini's Intc sale transaction in July 2000, though to Chambers credit, he had a sale in Feb 1999. I don't think either knew what was about to hit them, but it does generate poor appearance - no two ways around it - I prefer what Barrett seems to do - he sells during the same month every year- Jan. Chambers was obviously overpaid during that particular snapshot in time due to the boom, possibly magnified by not selling during the same time every year. But do like how Chambers retained 25% of his current allotment.

After looking at the insider transactions, noticed Mario sold nearly everything he owns - is he no longer with the firm? Last holding report was way back in March.

Who is Chambers backup if he gets hit by a bus? Couldn't find any executive on the insider trading roster that holds around 1M shares, other than Chambers. Most seem to sell right away, which obviously would not be an acceptable quality of a leader for a company, since it would not inspire confidence in investors. Got to say, like how the Google guys greedily want to hold onto their stock (of course, time will tell.)
