Who knows how it turns out in the end but for now it strikes me as peculiarly arab way to save face for al sadr in defeat while not acknowledging the chief role the US played in defeating him. It also clouds the support of the US effort by sistani. It points out a cultural difference between US and Iraq. We go for the knockout and this case that would be arrest and trial for al sader. Iraqis go for a more nuance, subtle approach, like the europeans have/would. Lets see how it plays out. mike
