Politicians are wimps, future Congresses and Presidents won't do anything and instead they will run up humongoud deficits, forcing inflation, forcing devaluation of the dollar, so that the cuts to retirees benefits will be made automatically rather than by politicians directly cutting benefits or raising retirement ages.
