I don't know what it takes to make a quality foreign affairs thread ..... maybe we should try to some degree 'to shrink from controversy', since lord knows there's plenty of it elsewhere ...... can we achieve balance by alternating posts from extremists - well the Dubya thread has been trying that for years now, look how they're doing, lol .... fine if you like that sort of thing i guess, i don't particularly, most days ..... that said, an adversary system of debate can have the advantage of stimulating folks to bring out interesting detail .... too many aren't willing to put out the effort though, and descend to name-calling and canned jabs ..... but we know you wouldn't do that, don't we, heh heh ..... sorry, short response, got to go, back later on weekend ..... cheers

ps - you know who i'd like to see on a political thread [or any other for that matter] - Walt Humphries .... everything got quite civilised, factual, logical, when he showed up ..... except for John Paquet of course
