dont think so. Another fat bearded cleric would rise up to replace him and of course we would have martyrised the son of a bitch. I think the solution worked for all parties. Sistani comes out ahead in a dramatic return. Alawi controlled our actions it is believed. We dont get more bad press in the moslem and arab world. Sadr lives to fight another day or maybe wise up and play a political role with his 2 million person base in bagdad give him a base of support. What GST failed to mention is that though his dad had folks who would die for him, al sadrs group of 3,000 was all he could muster this time around. Settlement keeps this number small for future as well. Just because they live in sadr city, have been poor and like pops doesnt make them thugs or just soldiers.
