But your fav soldier is NOT of this era. He's from the Vietnam era. Iraq is not Vietnam. Besides we have made considerable progress. Just yesterday a truce was called in Najaf. Time will tell if it holds, but I'm sure we learned valuable lessons in the process. The interim gov of Iraq has strong support among the population. Why do you want to throw all of that away after the high price we've paid for the accomplishments? It would indeed be another Vietnam if we pulled out and let the Iraqis fend for themselves against the Islamic terrorists. John Kerry wouldn't have any qualms about withdrawing all troops, but I doubt that he would. His ego would not allow him to do it. In fact, Kerry most likely would become more aggressive than Bush. Kerry has a habit of exaggerating his military prowess...give him the WH and you'll see that taken to new heights. His penchant for extreme sports will be played out with the U.S. military in Iraq. As usual he'll get the glory while other men suffer the consequences of his actions.
