Dave - You can have the Eastern franchise. I added more shares this morning at 11 5/8 to my holdings. With regard to the short term outlook for HDD manufacturers it doesn't look too bad if you believe this "expert", who discusses some of SFLX's largest customers:

General Partner from Integral Capital Partners Discusses Technology News
GUESTS: Roger McNamee BYLINE: Steve Young, John Defterios
STEVE YOUNG, CNNfn ANCHOR, DIGITAL JAM: I'm Steve Young in New York with Roger McNamee of Integral Capital Partners in San Francisco. And if you have a question on tech stocks, gives us a call on 1-800-304- fnet. . . .
YOUNG: OK, Don in New York, go ahead with your question.
CALLER: Good morning, Roger, how are you?
MCNAMEE: Very well, thanks.
CALLER: I respect your opinion and I'd like you to give me some information - which ones I would buy here. I know you like Western Digital , Seagate and Quantum . If you're going to buy one of them, would you buy Western Digital in that group? . . . .
MCNAMEE: Excellent - the first question related to the data storage group - specifically, the disk drive companies. Again, these are companies that will benefit enormously from Intel's price reductions. So, in 1998, I actually think the whole group will perform very, very well. I would look first at Western Digital, second at Quantum, third at Seagate. But I think 1998 could be a good year for all three stocks.
