The truce in Najaf is a total freaking joke. For that matter the whole Irag war is a joke and freak show.
The Iranians duped GWB and Co. and goaded us into war with Irag, to overthrow Saddam. Once he was gone the Iranians and their Shite majority are now concentrating their efforts to slit our throats and bleed us little by little. They are succeeding.
The whole business in Najaf was staged by the Shites and successful. 10's of thousands marched their, not to support the freaking phoney interim Iragi gov't, but to support their favorite clerics and their Medhi army. Who comes out of this as Iragi heroes? Certainly not the interim gov't.
You want to believe the American press and that all this terriorist shit in Irag is Al Qaeda and few ex Saddam freaks go ahead. You will then be even dummer than you sound. It is about oil and power and the Iranians through the Shites are now working to gain the upper hand. Iragis by the thousands are supporting them.
Even GWB and Condoleza know they are being duped, but are too powerless at present to stop it. They have an election to win. Next few weeks I would not be surprised if several crude oil pipelines in Irag and/or other ME areas get blown to hell.

The terms of the agreement so far reported will once again excuse Muqtada Al-Sadr from murder charges. Coalition forces in Iraq, made up 97% by the US, will retreat from the embattled centres of Najaf and nearby Kufa. Both will become weapons free zones but there is no plan how to implement this policy. It is suspected that there will be a brisk business at the local kiosks in shovels as AK-47s will once again be buried in every front lawn.
This episode will go down well with the Iraqis and take Al-Sadr to the level of Medhi and Ali al-Sistani himself to the level of Savior of the Medhi. As if to celebrate another victory by losing the battle, "Anwar the Terrorist" found his matches at last and blew the pipeline to hell one more time along with himself. He's a happy man in heaven tonight even though his allotment of you know what has been cut back considerably. (Is there anything that's not in short supply these days?).
I still cannot fathom how the reporters on CNN and Bloomberg can look so serious as they report about this slapstick comedy while our young men die - and for what?
Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi and his government having agreed to the illogical resolution of this charade thereby losing whatever credibility they have in the eyes of any thinking human being. Al-Sadr goes his merry way having won the admiration, hearts and minds of most Iraqis.
All this smoke and mirrors, the closeness of the Republican party in NY, reports of 250,000 demonstrators attending the convention, the approaching US presidential elections, and Anwar the Terrorist making a real big BOOM on the Iraqi pipeline today is setting up gold for higher prices and the dollar for the cellar.>
