There is a parallel here with how things are viewed.

I view myself as an American Patriot. I am not ashamed of it. I think we are terrific and that is why we succeed. We are the World's only super power and there is a good reason for that - because we are virtuous.

We have more medals at the Olympics than any other country and we deserve it. I am particularly proud of our women. They have dominated softball. They won gold in soccer. They are doing terrific in baseketball and volleyball.

This gold medal that is in dispute. It makes me not proud at all. This gold medal has nothing to do with us at all. It is an individual thing. For Americans, who beleive in ideals - we want the best person to win. Many times - and more than any other country - the winner is an American.

Just imagine what would have happened if the gold medal had gone the other way and our guy lost out because of the judge made a mistake.

Your friends here would want to go to war. I am not proud of that.
