LIAR! Kerry's congressional testimony has been used against him every time he has run. It hardly helped his political career except maybe with anti-war democrats at the time. Kerry was also running for congress (where he lost) in a blue collar district not some liberal bastion. The testimony worked against him not for him. The myth that Kerry spoke out to further his political career is laughable. If Kerry had wanted to run for office he would have been very polite and politically correct instead of telling is like it was, warts and all. No, Kerry's will to help end the war was a deeply personal thing. He spoke his mind. He might even regret some of it now, but he told it like it was as best an immature 20-something vet can.
