purple heart doctor(s) for kerry?

pardon if this question has been discussed and answered on this board many times already, but i have not seen it as i have skimmed over this board. i just can't find the time to read each post on this very good board.

i understand kerry received the first purple heart based on activity of december 2, 1968, with schachte while kerry was still in training. his training unit under hibbard would not grant kerry the purple heart for the unintentionally self-inflicted flesh wound (as schachte would express it). after the training in hibbard's unit kerry was transferred to another command's unit (swift boat i assume), and some weeks or months later under the NEW command kerry was granted the purple heart that kerry requested based on that december 2, 1968, flesh wound. how could that happen without a special doctor (or other allowed person) signing the paperwork ex post facto?

this riddle started me thinking cynically again that perhaps another of kerry's purple hearts may have been signed off by the identical doctor or medic or whoever could sign for a purple heart in the swift boat unit. i advanced this idea on august 27 to a vietnam vet who was on the street at a viet vet's against kerry stand/booth. on august 28 i saw him again, and he told me he had spoken later on august 27 with a vietnam vet doctor who told him there were many cases of anti-war doctors who were signing for purple hearts for almost any wound.

so i am just curious, and if this has been discussed to death already on this thread, i apologize.
