Re DC traffic comments - experience from May 2002 thru Aug 2003, and 1961 thru 1963. Only difference is that 40 years has increased the # of vehicles/miles/trips a lot faster than the available time for trips and the available miles of adequate roadways. And coincidently the extra security concerns resulting from 9/11. Crime stats have only gotten worse over 40 years time. The biggest problem is that mostly incompetent corruptible politicians are making the laws that everyone else has to obey (those that want to, anyway). Sorry, but facts is facts. :~(
