Before any of you deride Kerry or Bush for what they did or did not do w/r to Nam, each of you need to look very deeply within and ask yourself what you would have done, had you been in their position. And then each of you should ask yourself whether or not Kerry's and Bush's decision makes a difference as to the makeup of the person. I think it does.

I can only say I did not have to make the choice. It was close for me, but I did not have to make a decision. I was in about the 2nd lottery or so, and received a good number.

In hindsight I wished I would have enlisted and went. I would have lived several years within a few.

Truth be told however, at that point in time, had I been ordered to go, I would probably now be Canadien. I was vehemently opposed to the war, at that time. The Vietnam war was a joke. A total joke that unfortunately cost many lives. So it goes on planet earth. Homo sapiens are capable of almost anything imaginable.
