Fox today--a couple of interesting tidbits that may be in some way helpful in analysising the outcome of this election.

Interesting(g) poll results today--dog walkiers overwhelmingly choose bush as more reliable to walk their dogs. My wife keeps saying she just doesnt trust kerry although her inclination would be to support the democrat this time. We dont own a dog but she says as of today she will vote for bush.

Brit Hume apparently went to prep school with Kerry and remembers him well. He claime that the kennedyesqe accent kerry used before congress in 1971 was phony---"he doesnt have it now and he didnt have it when i knew him" said Hume. I always figured accent just faded over the years but apparently it was a put on. I wonder if swiftboaters of both sides remember kerry speech patterns during the war. (g) This again goes to my wifes lack of trust of kerry.

Something else from me. I am thinking this election is looking more like 1948. An empty suit against an unpopular president with dog walkers and speech therapists realizing in the end that its better to stick with the devil you know. I believe very strongly now that if this admin knew then what it knows now, it never would have gone to iraq. And if had gone to iraq anyway they would have fought the post war period quite differently. So the good result of iraq is that we may have an admin that has learned from their "intelligence" and "strategic" mistakes. We also know that kerry probably hasnt learned much from anything post vietnam and that he is frozen in time by his vietnam experience. There is no track record on what he would do with the next crisis, terror attack.etc. After 9/11 would kerry have attacked and overthrown the taliban and fought in afganistan or would we have heard the word potential quagmirre over and over again? American people have a tough choice. Will it be the NY Times this time whose headline erroneously reads Kerry wins on election night? mike
