Key word in your post "speculating." You then elevate it to a contention of fact with your last paragraph.

There is no proof of any imposition. Israel and US interests coincide in the mideast with exceptions that are clear, e.g., settlements, the wall, etc. I have many reservations with the handling of the Iraq war, including whether or not it was best for either Israel or the US. However, in general, supporting Israel does not mean one is not supporting the interests of the US. Most Americans support Israel and almost all US politicians over the past 50 years have done the same. That is not going to change, even with this incident.

I don't have the cite, but perhaps someone else does. Back last year, there were stories about our administration "spying" on Blair to make sure that the support for the Iraq war would remain solid.

Then there were stories about how Blair spied on UN people.

There is probably a lot of this stuff going on. In areas where information is generally available, such as the administration's policies toward Iran, it's tough to determine what is classified and what is not.

If your point is that there should be clear rules as to what is classified and what is to be shared with others, including those who may have a history of working with other nations, whether they be "friend" or "foe," then I would agree with you.

For some reason, this may be impossible or impractical given that "spies" cooperte with spies from other nations when it suits their purposes.

If there are clear rules or laws that are broken, then I would support punishment and sanctions for those who break the rules. But at this point, I suspect the "speculation" will continue to assume the worst.
