Junior talks tough, but is all bluster.

Nah, not at all - for me, at least. I might see reaching that conclusion if he'd said all sorts of things and then not even gone into Afghanistan, but I don't see him as being pure bluster.

He certainly wasn't on Iraq, that's for sure. More than a few people wish he'd been more bluster than action where Iraq was concerned, I'm sure.

The lesson I take away from our being unable to find Bin Laden is that it's completely inane to make a single individual the focus of a military operation; at the very least, it shows a rather extreme disregard for historical precedent. It's worse yet to equate, passively or actively, the state of the pursuit of that single individual to the success of an entire operation.

As I see it, the Bush Administration was foolish, very foolish, to have done so much name dropping early on. They've painted themselves into a corner, and it didn't have to be that way.

(My late uncle bill was in Pershing's calvary and rode into Mexico. Not that that is relevant either but I like to remember him now and then).

Wow, cool. How old was he when he passed away? Was he in WWI as well?
