RE: Lehman's remarks

You have to do a word by word analysis. After completing that, here is why I believe this issue will take Kerry out.

The first citation..is what it is...but the approving authority said he never would have approved it if he knew the real story. Kerry will not release the original citation, but much is known about it.

The second citation eliminates 170 words from the first. Those words describe an assault, the killing of enemy soldiers and the capture of weapons.
The man who did those acts that day was an Army soldier named Doug Reese, not Kerry. That is why I think Kerry likely substituted his name for heroic actions actually committed by Reese. (See page 82 of Unfit For Command.) Later Kerry probably realized he could not back it up...so he removed 170 words. I believe Kerry stole an Army Soldier's SS.

The second citation also removed the "V" which was phony from the outset. These changes substantially weakened the citation. It no longer looked like SS material imo.

The softening of the citation likely bugged Kerry. So he made up the third citation. Why not...he wrote the first two...why not a third. The third citation adds a few sentences of mighty heroic words to replace the hero verbage removed in the second version. The second and third citations are readily available on-line.

The SS is definitely in play according to my e-mails today.
It is working through the military e-mail system.

I realize this may not be a big deal to civilians, but veterans will not tolerate this crap. The lowest form of human life in our Armed Forces is a barracks thief. The rewrites sure make it seem Kerry stole another man's SS. That will not be tolerated by current or former Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and Airmen.

The penalty for a barracks thief is usually a midnight blanket party and 6 months in the stockade. Kerry will likely be spared that, but no military person who understands what happened will vote for him.

The important thing now is to disseminate the story and especially Lehman's rejection of the third citation to all Vets. That is a work in progress.

I think you can measure the military community's fast reaction to Lehman's comments here:
