There is about a 6 to 9 month delay for the construction layoffs to follow the slowdown in housing. I've discussed this extensively on Mish's thread. Since I believe we have just seen the housing peak in the last couple of months, the layoffs should start at the end of this year / start of next year. I don't think this will impact this month's job report.
