I agree with you! The trouble with lots of folks in America is that they are convinced that democracy is the best form of government for other nations on planet Earth! The sad, ugly and discomfiting reality is that democracy is not necessarily good for other nations. Indeed, as America's experience in Vietnam and Iraq have shown, it is just not possible to ram democracy down the throats of folks who don't want it. I am glad you noticed that. However, it is understandable why it is desirable to democratize other nations, especially if they have vital resources like oil and molybdenum, titanium, zirconium and tantalum, neodymium & etc. You see, America believes that nations in the democracy camp are more amenable to manipulations of sorts and would be co-operative.
