Sadr is positioning himself in exactly the right place to get elected in Iraq. Nothing in Iraq will have stronger appeal than a person with clearcut credentials as the guy who told the USA and their puppets to pack their bags and leave in-no-uncertain-terms. If there are elections, and if he is winning, look for the US to search for some way to "postpone" (cancel) the elections. Sadr has a good shot at getting elected to run Iraq -- Najaf was political theatre and we showed up and played our part. You can arrest Chalabi -- after all, he is little more than a foreigner and a crook, and nobody in Iraq will care. But Sadr, once he announced his political ambitions he will be radioactive for the US and far, far more of a problem than he was before we "defeated" him in Najaf.
