Kerry was on continuous duty in Vietnam. He never went on R+R anywhere else. If you've read his war story wou'll know that. I'm not saying he never had a day off but he never went to Bangkok or Hong Kong or wherever. His was the most arduous and dangerous duty, especially when it came to ferrying special forces into Cambodia etc.
