Like I said I don't believe there should be a draft for combat positions.
Vietnam weakened us, in regard to that. Osama said that
Americans are weak and will give up just like in Vietnam. His whole strategy is based on people here not handling any
setbacks or deaths. No point in having weak soldiers, not everyone is cut out for it.
There are different types of combat soldiers and we have excellent ones now. Some can handle rules of engagement and others are pro-active. The proactive types, from the ones I have met, are downright frightening to be around and I glad we have them because that is what will take to
beat the terrorists. The sniper mindset is also a little different. I am not sure being a combat vet would make a good president. Definitely can mess the mind up.

I doubt I would have the reflexes to fly a jet, but I think I would actually enjoy some proactive positions. I would be lousy at rules of engagement. I really admire
the reserve units who are in that type of combat.

So I don't care if Clinton or Quayle or Bush or Kerry served or not.

I also don't think we should decide wars with elections.
The McCain/Lieberman bill sanctioned action under the Clinton administration. Kerry and Congress voted to
give the power to make the decision, and now we are in it, and we need continue the mission for now. If the enemy knows we will vote on war, we are automatically weaker
than they are. Bin Laden does not vote on war. The Dems are just using the war as way to get into office.
About half agree with Kerry's real position (no wars unless the mainland is attacked) and half agree with Bush.
This country is really 2 countries. I don't think it is even healthy differences anymore.
