The current administration would see it as economic warfare, no doubt, but it isn't really at all, it's just the lessening of the free ride the US has gotten from its currency being so widely used overseas ..... they cannot reasonably expect that free ride to last, or demand some right to it .... not overtly, anyway

Iran is pricing its oil in a basket of currencies? ... i didn't know, haven't followed news all that much .... i don't think such a move would 'marginalise' the usd, it would just lower its market share of the storehouse of value business, somewhat ..... hardly earthshaking, i suppose it could enter into Uncle Al's calculations, though
