John Kerry’s “Heart and Soul”

By Sher Zieve
Aug 30, 2004

It began Sunday in New York City. John Kerry’s anarchistic and Bush-hating base, which he has called the “heart and soul of America”, started implementing their skills of arson, throwing rocks and bottles at police and setting off smoke bombs. And the convention hasn’t even officially commenced, yet. By late Sunday afternoon, some 300 arrests had already been made (which NY City Mayor Bloomberg called “minor”) and several police had already been hospitalized with burns and injuries sustained after being hit with projectiles (minor to them?). I’m guessing that this was just a “practice session” for Kerry’s troops. I hope that’s not the case but, as one on-the- street observer said yesterday “It feels like they’re just waiting for something to happen. The tension is high.” While MoveOn.org lights the fires of dissent against everything even remotely Republican, groups like Ruckus (partially funded by Theresa Heinz-Kerry’s Tides Foundation), United for Peace and Justice and even aging members from the radical ‘60’s organization Weather Underground are ready to “mix it up” should the opportunity arise. Michael Moore (John Kerry’s soul brother) stirred up the anti-Republican faithful by saying: “The majority of this country opposes the war. The majority are here to say, 'It's time to have our country back in our hands.’” Like a band of Madame Defarges the DNC waits, quietly giving their base signals while it sits back under the guise of knitting. The DNC even plans to hold its own “mini-convention” (to counter the RNC’s), at which Hillary Clinton and other Dem party notables plan to speak.

These activities provide a stark contrast to the Democrats’ convention, held in July. President Bush and the Republican Party allowed them their day in the sun. However, the Dems in regards to the RNC convention are continuing to scream their mantra: “No Free Speech unless it’s ours!” Ever Republican-hating, there is even rage amongst the nihilistic hordes that the RNC chose New York City for its convention. Do any of them remember that NY City was chosen in order to assist New York’s economy, due to the 9/11 attacks? I guess this just proves (as it has around the world) that the more you assist leftists, even though they demand that assistance, the more they hate you. Idiotic but, true.

Will there be increasingly violent demonstrations throughout this week? We're forced to take a wait and see posture. If there are, I can’t believe they will help Mr. Kerry. But, as we know, this is his true base of supporters. Scary, isn’t it?
