I don't know what tide you are talking about. If I say "Howard and Oct. 9" it should ring a bell in your mind especially you since you have been stationed as a American Foreign Service officer overseas. This election is the US is going to be very unique. The pollsters are not even taking into consideration the voters who will be first time voters. Those who have been registered to vote but have never come out to vote in years past because fo apathy or whatever.

The Swiftboat vets have been disgraced. 5 of them have retreated and its effects is going to die away. What is coming up now is illegal immigration (go pat Buchanan), healthcare (go Scarborough), funding of embryonic stem cell research (go Nancy and Ron Reagan) etc. And then we will have to see how "Howard and Oct 9th" unfolds. If Howard is out then it definitely spells trouble for Bush.
