John, you didn't really fall for the 2000 political mud slinging, did you? Anyone who watched McCain's speech last night could see he's a sensible American who is determined to help his country in any way possible. McCain was cool, calm & collected. I've never seen him behave otherwise. In fact, GW owes John McCain an apology for the dubious tactics that were used in 2000. Moderate Republicans are proving this yr that their country is more important to them than party nuances. the fact that many fundamentalist Republicans still sometimes exhibit bigoted tendencies will not stop moderate Repubs like me & McCain from taking the currently wise action for their country. We expect the same behavior from the far right in 2008. Wisdom lies in moderation, as Benjamin Franklin admonished the colonists: "moderation in all things"...that includes politics. Would old Ben Franklin ever steer us in the wrong direction? <g>
