New track shifts left, back over Daytona Beach (Volusia County, pop 444,000), but runs over Jacksonville down range. Knots conversion to mph is 1.152 X, so Frances rips over the mostly populated Bahamas (and right over Eleuthera, and Freeport, and near Paradise Island (Nassau, Atlantis) atlantis.com with 144 mph winds. Hits Florida coast with winds at 132 mph, as of this advisory. intellicast.com High tide at Daytona Beach is 4.3 feet at 12:41 PM (whole coast looks that way). NOAA is looking for landfall at 2PM that day. nhc.noaa.gov
