I leave for a month and I return to unmitigated honesty and exceptional perception! Did I do something wrong? :-) Although I am certainly unsure whether I disagree politically. Good to hear. An unsuspecting target is an easy target. :-) here was a time when my ideas were written in stone; but now I believe that values matter far more than opinion. There is no end to opinion; but the ancient exhortation to do no harm is far more important than all the differences of opinion that could ever exist. Well put, Sir. I have no politial party. If I were Canadian, I would be uncertain where I fit in your zoo too! :-) It means nothing in the grand scheme. Does that include that long running a battle about the use of nukes in WW2? :-) These days I'd say we were both right: there were multiple reasons. One was to quickly force the hardliners in the Japanese military to see the necessity of surreneder. And the other was as an impressive demonstration for the Russians. :-) Not that that accomplished a lot. Four short years later they had their own bomb. And Jewel is an impressive man with excellent character, I do believe.
