What makes you think people don't want health insurance and why is the number without growing?

A huge number of 20-30 year olds CHOOSE not to have health insurance because they think they have other priorities.

Yes, because they can't afford it.......and please don't come back with your $60 per month insurance plan. It seems to be a plan peculiar to Hot Springs.

The number is growing because (a) it is a function, in part, of the unemployment rate, and (b) of the number of people in the nation, which is also growing. Duh.

Forget .......its due to [a] and the growing cost.

On the news last week, a 22 year old could not afford heath insurance along with his rent and car insurance.....he figured he was 22 and would not get sick. A month ago he had a car accident and they amputated his leg. Of course, the hospital bills are astronomical. His father has been forced to sell his house to pay the bills. This story is being repeated all over the US. Its a crime in a country that can 'afford' to spend billions to fight a senseless war in Iraq but refuses to guarantee basic health coverage for its citizens.
