<<I hope stock options receive the tax treatment that they so richly deserve.>>

The "tax treatment" or accounting treatment? The IRS already lets companies take a tax deduction for stock option expense at exercise, meaning the difference between the exercise price and market price at time of exercise. This is one of the great ironies about this matter. Companies take a tax deduction expense for stock options on their tax returns, but then turn around and try to tell shareholders they really aren't an expense on their accounting statements. What a racket!!
