I live in Albany, NY, and if I were to take out my own policy I'd be paying $500/mo. As-is, my job pays close to $300/mo for me, and it's through the Chamber of Commerce.

NY insurance is outrageous. I'd wager it is due to some kind of liberal garbage regulation or a requirement that coverage exceed the reasonable requirements of other states.

Screw off. That's totally insensitive, and besides, perhaps he needed a car so he could have a friggin' job... aren't you righties always telling the lazy lefties to get jobs?

It is just about people learning to take care of themselves and to live responsibly. Health insurance is like food and shelter. You get it first. If you can't make enough money to buy insurance in NY, you get off your butt and move somewhere where it is cheaper.

I really get sick of people expecting the government to take care of them.
