Schacte was an eyewitness to the first purple heart. Uh lets see gunner Steve Gardner was there for the second purple heart, Rocky Hildreth saw the second purple heart incident, Corpsman John Higgins saw one of the "wounds". Dr. Letson saw one of the "wounds". Bob Hildreth saw the ambush of his boat where Kerry fled the scene, Michael Medeiros saw the Silver Star incident and so did Larry Lee. Tom Belodeau saw the Silver Star incident. Doug Reese also saw the Silver Star incident. Larry Thurlow saw the actual wounds from blowing up rice then passed off as wounds from the Bronze Star incident. Jack Chenoweth saw the actual Bronze stat incident and so did Van Odell, Dick Pease, and Larry Thurlow.
