Note that there are several variants in the spelling for OBL's name, and that a writer may exercise some license in adopting a particular spelling for a name.
If a writer is told repeatedly the spelling should be Osama ben Laden (or Osama Ben Laden) and the writer persists in using Osama ben Lauden, or something similar, then it is that writer's prerogative to use his/her spelling until the person actually referred to asks the writer to cease and desist from using that particular spelling. Or that person could claim the writer was referring to someone else, real or imagined. (BTW, I once ducked a speeding charge because the policeman got my name wrongly written on a form.) The O part of OBL's name has several variants:- Osama, Osamah, Ossama, Osamma, Usama, Ussamah & etc;
the B part admits of ben, Ben, bin & Bin; and the
L part includes Laden, Ladin and Lauden
