Why does that surprise anyone? The GOP has completely been taken over by Karl Rove. Rove doesn't know how to run any campaign that is not filled with negativity, unwarrented attack, and surrogate liars meant to throw the focus off the shortcomings of his candidate.

The more the shortcomings of Bush, the harsher the attacks on Kerry. Old trick. May work, given the right wing media and the stupidity of a growing number of Americans who watch Survivor and other trailer trash programming.
