If you're authorizing bias, then Reuters and the Beeb are as entitled to their pet ones as you are. You can dispute their POV but you can't complain about the bias itself.


This isn't about "playing fair" in a kindergarten. According to your logic, because American and German newspapers both displayed bias during WWII, if I was okay with one I have to be okay with the other. Hitler was just as entitled to a bias towards Nazism as FDR was towards democracy.

I don't accept this embrace of amorality. Yes, people do still disapprove of axe-murders of children by deranged murderers, but every other line is fuzzy. Go look in the Arab papers for disapproval of terrorists who take a school hostage and kill little kids, see if you will find it. I don't have to allow that kind of bias. I don't have to approve of it. I don't have to admit that my disapproval is just "pushing my world view", either. It's not just my world view. It's civilization vs. barbarity.
