Of course it is an attractive option for everyone concerned. Borrowing protected us from the Axis; it built the interstate highway system; it supported the space program, and therefore the revolution in telecommunications through satellite technology; it helped to expand educational benefits to those who might not otherwise have afforded it, thus increasing the pool of talent available to society; and so on. I certainly do not mind that a small amount of my tax dollar goes to paying off all of these things I benefit from. Why should my grandchildren? You simply assume an ominous scenario that has nothing to do with the main topic under discussion.
