A bit of a warning - don't use the time and sales chart on NYSE or AMEX stocks (or at least don't rely on it). Unless your quote vendor omits regionals, charts of exchange-traded stocks are inaccurate and deceptive when using this technique.

That's because you will see each bid/offer change, including on regional exchanges. The regional exchanges will typically be away from the market. The charts of exchange-traded stocks will look like "hedgehogs" that need a good haircut!

It's find on NASDAQ stocks, though, and I find it very useful, particularly before the open, when you can see the pre-opening jockeying between the market-makers as they set the opening price.
