What was the war about then? It certainly was about weapons of mass destruction or any threat to the US by Iraq which was a crumbling house of cards. Bush ignored the advice of knowledgeable career statesmen and intelligence officers to listen to the lies of his political operatives to engineer an excuse to invade another country without any provocation whatsoever.

BTW, the mess goes back much farther than that, say over a thousand years. I recommend reading "The Crusades Through Arab Eyes" by Amin Maalouf
