IMO Kerry's life-goal has always been the Presidency; while GW Bush was content with his life until circumstances funneled him into the glide path to the oval ofc. One man has always yearned for the ofc while the other one was catapulted into it. GW could be perfectly happy in private business surrounded by his family & friends. Kerry needs the adulation of elected ofc in order to be a happy person.
