jtalien,
We do need a fallback plan if the democratic option doesnt work in a reasonable period of time(undefined). I proposed a week ago that post election the president (either guy) should announce an end date. My thinking is that this will force the good iraqis and the fair iraqis to make a decision on being tough with the bad iraqis as well as the horrific ones. It would serve as a wake up call to the folks who are playing both ends against the middle. But if this doesnt happen or is but is not bought into by iraqis, then we move to the 3 state solution---kurds with a deal struck with us and turks on the shape of things to come---shiaa supported quietly by us and Iran and the triangle people where chaos would clearly reign. Mike
