...you ... are now trying to find justification for it?

Am Not.

"Justifying mistakes is not good policy...

What mistake? What justification?

"...admit failure and change course."

I don't know what failure you are refering to. Saddam was defeated. The country of Iraq seems to be moving forward on rebuilding its infrastructure with US support. There are many problems and set backs that Bush recognises and addresses.

...or at the very least,a different direction.

I am very interested in seeing the direction that you think should be different. Please include in that how you plan to leave Iraq.

"and the continued assertion that the invasion of Iraq was a proper response to that attack because it was some how..some way..any way..connected,which it was not."

I never thought Iraq was an immediate threat, even though I always thought the decision to invade Iraq was the right thing to do. Saddam would never have dropped his long term goals of ruling an empire and destroying us in the process. It was a matter of time and given time he would have been able to reak devestation. Not to mention the evil brutal behavior of his regime over the people in the vast region of Iraq.
