Hiram,

Price has come down on Flash memory and the storage capacity is also geting better. Also you can reprogram a flash on the fly, unlike EEPROM or PROM. Your PC, if old, certainly contains EPROM(s) to store the BIOS. If your PC is new, it has a flash, allowing the BIOS to be upgraded. The new Pentium chip also contains flash inside to store the microcode. Do you know that Intel can now fix the bug inside the Pentium on the fly? Airplane control boxes have flash, your digital answering machine also uses flash... In another word, flash is everywhere that needs unerasable but yet reprogrammable memory storage. So the potential for flash is enormous.

Now the strong point of SNDK is that the company has numerous patents on flash, and any chip maker that manufacture flash will have to use technologies that are protected by those patents. So do you see the huge income from royalty?

This flash stuff is not easy to grasp for the non techties, and therefore the stock gave me an opportunity to buy at a reasonable price this morning at 30 and change. But I am sure this stock will double by year end.
