Oil makes the Persian Gulf important, not just to us but to the world. But its a baseless charge that our involvement has not been some selfish oil grab. Liberalizing the ME is also our interest and it is a moral upright cause. f Iraq is truly sovereign, then ANY Iraqi government can tell us to leave and we should. OK, but there is an Iraq government and it hasn't asked us to.
