Cheap shot!

To be sure, those overseas factories were so located as to take advantage of the readily available supplies of spices, fruits and vegetables. Also, as the cost of labour in the US is high even for harvesting, I believe the managers of Heinz 57 were pragmatic in setting up factories elsewhere, and many of those Heinz factories were set up long before Kerry got into the Senate!

I believe Kerry was referring to loss of manufacturing jobs of the kind not concerned with mundane things like preserved vegetables and fruits.

Much ado about nothing! A very cheap shot!
