Below is an older press release on the Hyland property:
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 19, 2004--Northgate Exploration Limited (TSX: NGX - News; AMEX: NXG - News) and StrataGold Corporation (TSX VENTURE:SGV - News) are pleased to announce that the Phase 3 gold exploration program is underway on the Hyland property, 70 km northeast of Watson Lake, Yukon. The program, managed by StrataGold, consisted of 20 kilometers of Induced Polarization geophysics which will be followed up by approximately 2,500 metres of diamond drilling. The drilling will test geophysical and geochemical targets follow up on intersections from the 2003 drill program. Drilling commenced on July 19th and should be completed by late August. The project setting is similar to the Telfer-type deposits in Australia and has the potential to host a large sediment-hosted gold deposit. The property is within a 14 kilometre long steeply west dipping structural zone of late Proterozoic to Early Paleozoic sedimentary rocks. Within this structural zone is a 3200 metre long gold-bismuth soil geochemical anomaly that was partly tested in 1990 with shallow percussion drilling and in 2003 by diamond drilling. The 1990 work defined an Inferred Oxidized Gold Resource of 3.2 million tonnes grading 1.1 g/t gold (this is a non-N.I. 43-101 compliant resource; see February 10, 2003 new release). The 2003 drilling intersected several sections of sulphide mineralization, (pyrite and arsenopyrite with trace accessory sulphides of bismuth, copper and zinc) highlights of which are listed below (November 25th 2003 news release):
17.2 m of 1.29 g/t gold, 13.85 g/t silver in HY-03-01 28.0 m of 0.93 g/t gold in oxide mineralization in HY-03-02 followed by: 53.1 m of 1.38 g/t gold, 3.54 g/t silver in HY-03-02 6.5 m of 2.02 g/t gold, 64.87 g/t silver in HY-03-03 12.3 m of 0.98 g/t gold and 5.3 g/t silver in HY-03-09 9.8 m of 1.57 g/t gold and 43.76 g/t silver in HY-03-12 The 2004 field program is being supervised by Mr. Jim Sparling, P.Geo. Manager, Exploration, North and Central America.

Drilling on this property also didn't get under way until July. So, there likely won't be any press releases on this project until mid to late October. |
