Noble sentiment, but it isn't going to happen, in fact, every day that passes one can see how they are cranking up people's anger and hatred more and more -- preparing them for war. It wasn't just a coincidence that both the Democratic and Republican election platforms were mainly about war -- whether the Iraq war or the Vietnam war. In fact, both wars were against people who offered no threat to the US. But so what?

Look at this chart to see how current US military expenditure is the principal reason for the enormous fiscal deficit. This expenditure -- ostensibly to protect against unknown and/or invisible foes -- is even greater than was disbursed to protect the US against the USSR, another superpower. And this is not the end of the story. Only the beginning.

All this military expenditure is not for nothing. I'm sure you know there are people out there who are itching for any reason to press those "buttons" and use those "toys" -- even if they have to manufacture that reason themselves.
