Rick, I was active in Texas politics from the 60s, to the 80s, and had known Ben Barnes on a bit of a personal way, even though I was a republican. We were not friends. He was involved in a scandal before the Sharpstown affair. He is, and has always been, a crook, liar, and extremely liberal politician. I wouldn't believe one word he said, but not enough people, outside of Texas, know enough about him. Even so, I don't think he will be an asset to Kerry's campaign.
